Odbc Driver For Mac
MacOS is based on the FreeBSD operating system, and you can normally use the MySQL network port for connecting to MySQL servers on other hosts. Installing the Connector/ODBC driver lets you connect to MySQL databases on any platform through the ODBC interface. If your application requires an ODBC interface, install the Connector/ODBC driver. If you installed a previous version of the Vertica ODBC driver for Mac OS X, your system may already have a registered driver named 'Vertica.' In this case, If you must remove or rename the older version of the driver before installing the Vertica ODBC driver.pkg. The MapR ODBC Driver with SQL Connector for Apache Hive requires a Hadoop cluster with the Hive service installed and running. The MapR ODBC Driver with SQL Connector for Apache Hive is suitable for use with all versions of Hive. The driver supports both 32- and 64-bit client applications.
Download the MacOS Hive ODBC connector from https://package.mapr.com/tools/MapR-ODBC/MapR_Hive/MapRHive_odbc_2.6.1.1001/MapRHiveODBC.dmg.
Installation
The MapR ODBC Driver with SQL Connector for Apache Hive driver files are installed in the following directories:
/opt/mapr/hiveodbc/ErrorMessages
– Error messages files directory/opt/mapr/hiveodbc/Setup
– Sample configuration files directory/opt/mapr/hiveodbc/lib/universal
– Binaries directory

To install the MapR ODBC Driver with SQL Connector for Apache Hive:
- Double-click to mount the
MapRHiveODBC.dmg
disk image. - Double-click
MapRHiveODBC.pkg
to run the Installer. - Follow the instructions in the Installer to complete the installation process.
- When the installation completes, click Close.
Configuration
Setting the DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH Environment Variable
The
DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH
environment variable must include the paths to: Dr drum beat maker software windows 10.- Installed ODBC driver manager libraries
- Installed MapR ODBC Driver with SQL Connector for Apache Hive shared libraries
For example, if ODBC driver manager libraries are installed in
/usr/local/lib
, then set DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH
as follows:export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib/opt/mapr/hiveodbc/lib/universal

Configure Hive ODBC Connections on Mac OS X

You can obtain the Vertica ODBC driver for Mac OS X as a
.pkg
file through the myVertica portal. You can run the installer as a regular Mac OS X installer or silently. This driver is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit applications.The installer is designed to be used with the standard iODBC Driver Manager included in Mac OS X. While Mac OS X ships with the iODBC Driver Manager already installed, you may choose to download the most recent version of the driver at the iODBC.org website.
By default, the installer installs the driver in the following location:
/Library/Vertica/ODBC/lib/libverticaodbc.dylib

Before You Download the Driver
If you installed a previous version of the Vertica ODBC driver for Mac OS X, your system may already have a registered driver named 'Vertica.' In this case, If you must remove or rename the older version of the driver before installing the Vertica ODBC driver
.pkg
. To have multiple versions of the driver installed on your system at the same time, you must rename the currently installed version of the driver to something other than 'Vertica.' You can do so using the Apple ODBC Administrator Tool.
To rename the driver:

- Using your web browser, download and install the Apple ODBC Administrator Tool.
- Locate and open the ODBC Administrator Tool after installation:
- Navigate to Finder > Applications > Utilities.
- Open the ODBC Administrator Tool.
- Click the Drivers tab, and then select the driver named 'Vertica.'
- Click the Configure button. A dialog box opens.
- In Description, enter a new name for the driver, and then click OK. The dialog box closes.
- On the ODBC Administrator page, click Apply.
- Exit the ODBC Administrator Tool.
